James Close – Head of Programme, Circular London

James is the Head of LWARB’s Circular Economy Programme. He has background in sustainability and climate change and has worked extensively across public and private sectors in London, UK and internationally. Prior to LWARB, James was the Director for Climate Change at the World Bank in Washington, DC. He has also been a partner at EY and the head of the Corporate and Private Finance team at HM Treasury. In 2010, he was the author of the Mayor’s Prospectus for London as a Low Carbon Capital.

Andrea Crump – circular economy Policy and Projects Officer

Andrea is the circular economy Policy and Projects Officer in the Circular London team.  Her role aims to catalyse circular economy activity across London through influencing policy and developing projects to deliver the London circular economy Route Map.

Andrea has over 10 years experience in leading public sector action on sustainability and was previously head of the sustainability team at the London Borough of Sutton, delivering a wide range of sustainability programmes, including sustainable energy and resource efficiency. Andrea is a Chartered Environmentalist and a member of the Institution of Environmental Sciences.

Philip Guthrie – Collaboration Hub Project Officer

Philip is Circular London’s Collaboration Hub project officer. He joined LWARB in 2017 with a view to promoting collaboration within the circular economy across London. The role looks to bring actors across key business and industry sectors together with government, community and academia to explore ways to transition London to a circular economy, encouraging these actors to take practical steps to demonstrate this. This collaboration interfaces closely with the Advance London work with SMEs and investment. 

Before joining LWARB Philip worked for Arup for over ten years where he developed extensive knowledge of the built environment sector in London, Australia and South Africa and skills in facilitation and design exploration. Philip is a Chartered Environmentalist and an Accredited Mediator.
